Classes & Camps
Group Lessons
Starting from 2024/25 season, group classes are offered at three levels – beginners, intermediate and advanced( invitation only), during school terms.
Each fencer is placed in a level appropriate to their maturity, skills and readiness.
Advanced group training is newly added and will be reviewed regularly for further improvement. The invitation to the advanced group is under coaches’ discretion and coaches may withdraw the invitation if the fencer is seen not ready by the coach. The normal semester fee doesn’t apply to the advanced group. The detailed fee and training schedule will be communicated with the invitee directly.
What will be taught?
Fencing etiquette, rules, basic technique, footwork, drills,strategies, and meditation will be introduced during the group lessons.
Time and Period
Group lessons are organized by term, normally 10 lessons per term. The semester fee structure allows fencers to join all group lessons which are appropriate to them, unless you choose the fee of joining training once a week.
Normally a group lesson will last for 90 minutes (Intermediate foil group lesson will be 120 mintues in 2025) and an Intermediate fitness group lesson will last for 60 minutes. Typically the advanced group lesson lasts for 2 hours.
Fees
The beginner and intermediate group lessons are covered by semester fee. The fee varies depending on the age and frequency.
Special events like holiday camps or international camps as well as private lessons are not included in the semester fee.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are an important part of an individual’s personal development in fencing: they allow for an personalised approach to enhance the learning, correct any bad habits and learn strategies.
Duration
One private lesson lasts for 25 minutes and can be booked online on our website.
If your private lesson is with Coach Mo, you are expected to arrive 30 minutes earlier to warm up properly to be prepared for an intensive lesson.

Reschedule
Every fencer has one opportunity to reschedule a private lesson each term for whatever reason. Please contact admin@sydneybeyondfencing.com.au to reschedule subject to the availability. All make up private lesson must be arranged before the next term begins.
Please note that the private lessons might be disrupted due to:1) national or state competitions; 2) coaches are called by the AFF to lead the international competitions; 3) coaches are sick or other unforseeable reasons. We will make every effort to notify you and reschedule. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Camps
2025 Easter Beginner Fencing Camp
15-17 April 2025
10:00am – 3:30pm
Suitable for total beginners or with less than one year experience. Recommended for 7-15 years old.
Please bring your water bottle and lunch.
Equipment provided.
$125 per day or $330 for three days.
